Tero Foundation - a Social Ventures is creating an ecosystem that brings together companies, donor organizations and high net-worth individuals (HNIs) from USA and India to collaborate with non-governmental organizations (NGOs), non-profit organizations (NPOs) and social enterprises. We believe that such a confluence will facilitate implementation of programs that create greater social impact.
Tero Foundation offers strategic advisory, capability building and implementation support services to companies, foundations and facilitates donations by individuals. Tero Foundation has partnered with a social enterprise NGOCSR.com in India and designed a program called Project 2020 India, under which foundation is going to adopt several (about 500) villages of India, particularly of Gujarat state and try to uplift livelihood of village population by holistic growth of the village upto next 5 years i.e. 2020.

Concept of Our Project 2020 (India)
Concept of Our Project
2020 India is adapted from and very much aligned with and based on Our
Honourable Prime Minister’s Visionary - Central Government Scheme
“Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana”. Under this project we will adopt several
villages for their Holistic Development and Growth. Development is not
an Infrastructure centred but Aim is Holistic Development of the
village. We will also manage and use CSR Funds for these activities.
Under
this Project we are ready to adopt several villages of India - about
500 (particularly Gujarat State in the starting) and put them into the
mainstream of Modern developed Indian life keeping our ethos, heritage
and fundamental life values intact.

Key High Lights
Here is what and how we try to develop in an adopted village. These Key Highlights throws a little but strong light on it.
- Personal Development : Moral Values, hygienic behaviour, daily exercises, free from alcoholism, dignity of labour and promoting volunteerism, respect for women
- Human Development : universal access to health, balanced sex ratio, no malnutrition, universal primary education and retention of all until class X, smart school : IT enabled class rooms, e-Libraries, e literacy
- Social development : Volunteerism, honouring village elders, village freedom fighters, violence and crime free village, integrating socially excluded groups.
- Economic development : agriculture, dairy and livestock, organic farming, soil health cards, micro-irrigation, rural industrialization, post harvesting technology, food processing, village, Agri & eco-tourism
- Environment sustainability : tree plantation, rainwater harvesting, watershed development, Renewable Energy, toilet in each household
- Basic Amenities : piped clean drinking water, road connectivity to main road, clean village, toilet in every house, electric connection to all homes with 24/7 power, broad band connectivity, mini-bank with ATM
- Social Security : Pensions for all eligible families- old age, disability and widow, Insurance schemes like Aam Aadmi Bima Yojana & Health insurance- RSBY
- Good Governance : e-governance, online certificates, election by consensus

How We Go
- Identify and select the Villages to make them Adarsh Gram - Through - Open invitation on Web, approaching district collectors and other officials and NGO partners
- Engage with the community in the village, propagate the values of the project, and Initiate start-up activities to build up the right environment
- Conduct the baseline survey and Need Assessment
- Facilitate the planning process, Facilitation of village level plan preparation, Strategic Planning
- Prioritisation of Interventions, Converging the relevant Government Schemes, Coordination of scheme implementation across line departments
- Partnership with different bodies – NGOs, communities, government departments, political bodies, Philanthropists, donors, media etc.
- Review of progress on a monthly basis and reporting to our Head Quarter as well as on Web for individual villages and to the State and Central Governments.
- Adherence to grievance redressal and proactive disclosure norms laid down by the respective scheme guidelines
- Arrangement of frequent site visits to assess progress.
- Communication on Web, on Social Sites, to Philanthropists and to the media
Our Approach
We will use the Public-Private-People-Philanthropists-Partnership (5P) model. Partnerships are key drivers in our work with communities. Our project will involve collaborations with elected bodies, government, NGOs, communities and Philanthropists. The 5P model will helps us impart a greater degree of sustainability to our programme. We will partner with central and state government schemes for our interventions as and where possible, and bring in NGO and Philanthropist partners for implementation. Networking and forging alliances will facilitate innovation and speedy implementation, as well as avoiding duplication of activities, time, energy and resources. This approach enables sustainable impact.
